There are very few things in the world more appealing than a greasy hamburger or a slice of pizza after a long night of drinking. Still open until 3 a.m. daily, Dino's is Nashville’s oldest dive bar, an essential East Nashville hangout and a prime late-night dining spot. While it’s hard to go wrong, the go-to is definitely the cheeseburger — one of the very best in the city — or the butcher burger, made with local beef from Porter Road Butcher.

Since opening in 2013, the Treehouse has been a consistent Five Points neighborhood destination for dining and drinking, particularly popular for its eclectic, colorful patio with plenty of seating. New to Nashville’s late-night scene but decidedly essential is Sean Brock’s Joyland, his ode to the fast-food joints of yesteryear. Burgers come with single or double four-ounce patties of a customized beef blend from Bear Creek Farm, or change it up with a pimento cheese-topped burger or a crispy “crustburger.” The fried crispy sandwich and onion rings are highlights as well, naturally.

Sun Diner

Long after its namesake has set, you’ll find a gut-busting menu of liquor-sopping dishes at this late-night cafe, a restaurant homage to the artists who recorded at Sun Records. Case in point: a breakfast sandwich with glazed donut buns that’s worthy of Elvis himself — and available 24 hours a day.

Problem: it’s 1 a.m. and you’ve got a wicked hankering for ribeye, scrambled eggs, and some cheesecake. Solution: The sixth-floor dining room at The Diner. It’s supposed to go back to being open 24 hours a day soon, but this SoBro staple with an abbreviated late-night menu of its daytime heavy hitters still says open until 2 a.m. on weekends. And if you’re looking for a late-night round of booze, it’s served until close.
