The Essential Guide to Nashville’s Brewery Taprooms
The number continues to grow

Located in an old warehouse, East Nashville Beer Works epitomizes the definition of a neighborhood brewery. On nicer days, the back patio is typically bustling with folks enjoying the local brews, playing games and eating pizza, salads, and appetizers.
Honky Tonk Brewing
Located in the north Nashville/Metrocenter area, HonkyTonk Brewing Co. has been open since 2014, but it’s discreet taproom location still flies relatively under the radar. Brews include a honey blonde infused with orange blossom honey, a cherry berliner weisse, a chocolate stout, and more.
Southern Grist Brewing Company
Founded by three Nashville transplants with a passion for brewing beer, Southern Grist opened on the east side in 2015 and added a second taproom in The Nations earlier this year. Both taprooms are open seven days a week, giving folks plenty of opportunity to try out the ever-changing and unique brews.
TailGate Brewery East
TailGate Beer opened its third Nashville-area outpost in East Nashville this summer. The well-known local brewery also has locations in West Nashville and Music Row. The original West Nashville location is popular for its spacious indoor and outdoor seating areas, and its frequently hosted events.
Bearded Iris Brewing
Germantown's first brewery, Bearded Iris opened in 2016 and has quickly made a name for itself with a small lineup of well-crafted beers. The kid-friendly taproom, which also has a welcome BYO food policy, is open seven days a week.
Smith & Lentz
Open seven days a week, this East Nashville brewery offers a variety of beers from pilsners and lagers to IPAs and stouts. Patrons also enjoy the sizable outdoor seating area and selection of lawn games,
Little Harpeth Brewing
If German lagers are a preference, Little Harpeth Brewing’s beers are worth a try. Turning out a number of German-style beers, Little Harpeth also incorporates Tennessee’s volunteer spirit by looking at ways to give back to the community and maintain green initiatives.
Corsair Brewstillery Taproom & Tasting Room
Most people know Corsair as a distillery, but it is also a brewery. The original Marathon Village location brews a selection of high gravity beers. Corsair is open seven days a week and tours with tastings are available for $10 per person.

Fat Bottom Brewery opened in East Nashville in 2012, but relocated to a much larger space in The Nations in 2017. The taproom is open seven days a week and serves its flagship brews, plus a rotating list of seasonal selections.

Though still a small operation, Czann's has grown both in fans and brews offered since opening in the SoBro/Gulch area in 2015.
