The Eater 38 is a guide to Nashville’s essential restaurants, an elite set of spots that represent some of the best of the city’s contemporary dining scene. Glancing through the list today, the impact of COVID-19 on the city’s food world becomes immediately apparent. Of the 38, thirty of them are currently open for patio dining, takeout or delivery in some form; the other eight remain closed — for now.

The situation in Nashville, and restaurant owners’ responses to it, is shifting day by day. As of right now, here’s how to support the thirty Eater 38 restaurants that currently remain open in some fashion.

Work is also underway for their expansion to Belle Meade as Roze Pony. The Gulch restaurant is back open at half-capacity for indoor and patio dining. It’s also possible to get Bringle’s famous dry-rubbed ribs and pulled pork shipped anywhere in the country thanks to Goldbelly. The chef’s sauces and seasonings are available for purchase, too. In the meantime, he’s sharing recipes on the restaurant’s Instagram feed — everything from pork rind-crusted fried green tomatoes to Frito pie or BBQ Benedict.
